HRH The Earl of Wessex meets the Porch Project
The Earl does a lot of work with young people through his own trust, the Wessex Youth Trust and since 2015 has been chairman of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award Foundation. He was very interested to hear about the work of the Project especially from Brendan one of the young people who has benefited from our Venture programme and who's a regular at our drop in sessions in Great Cornard.
It was a very enjoyable morning where we were able to meet many local dignitaries, business people and many individuals who know about the work of the Project and already support us.
For more pictures of the event go to our media page.
A big thank you to the ladies at Jim Lawrence who raised £134 for the Project.
A big thank you to Gotelee Solicitors for the £3,000 grant being the 2nd year of a 3 year award to part sponsor the salary of a femail youth worker.
On Friday May 11th we were invited by The Suffolk Foundation to be one of the groups being introduced to HRH Prince Edward at Birketts new HQ in Princes Street, Ipswich.
With summer almost upon us our Fundraising Team would like to invite you to join them at The Place for Plants, East Bergholt.
Not an event to be missed for the gardeners amongst you, read on for full details.
On Tuesday 10th April we were visited in Hadleigh by Toby from the Robin Cancer Trust. The aim of the Robin Cancer Trust is to raise awareness around germ cell cancer (testicular and ovarian cancer) and to teach people how to correctly check for symptoms so that cancer can be found at an earlier stage so the chances of survival are higher.
