Horizons Session 6
The group were greeted by Anna the lead trainer at the salon who took us upstairs to give a brief talk on how she became a hairdresser and some of the ways of getting into the industry, she spoke on the apprenticeships schemes and how its one of the only career paths that you can become fully trained in 18 months.
Kaylee was introduced who is currently half way through her two year apprenticeship.
This was a very successful session with the girls getting hands on experience of how to shampoo & condition correctly followed by head massage techniques and blow drying hair correctly.
We hope to return to the salon for future sessions and be in a position to guide young people to the Hair Lounge for apprenticeships
The next Horizon session will be on June 21 at Stoke By Nayland Golf Club and Hotel.
