Ben Day
Youth Work Coordinator

I was born in Colchester and now live in Manningtree. I Eat , Sleep and Breath all things Motorbikes. I currently ride a 660 Yamaha Adventure bike and also compete in Motorcycle Trials competition. My other hobbies include Mountain Biking, Basketball and Mountaineering. I have been working with young people for over 10 years in several different settings. I have a varied working background from being a Welder/ Truck builder to being a Cover teacher at a secondary school. My passion lies in seeing people grow and develop into confident individuals. I think it is very important to have something that makes you tick and to share whatever your passion is with others. Everything in life is a lesson, you should take opportunities by the horns and run with them. My favourite quote I often annoy people with when I’m half way up a cold and wet mountain in Wales is “It doesn’t have to be fun to be fun”. Challenges often shape who we are.

Kayleigh Diss
Youth Worker

I was born in Luton but grew up in the seaside town of Felixstowe from the age of 2½ until I moved to Nedging in 2014. I'm a very keen cook and often spend my spare time cooking and trying new dishes. I never thought I was a country girl until I moved this way, now more often than not I'll be out at weekends walking in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. I have worked with children and young people for the last 7 years and am passionate about everyone having a voice and being heard. I am really looking forward to being part of the Porch Project team and am very excited at the prospect of helping young people strive to achieve their goals.

I'm currently halfway through the Open University BA/BSc (honours) degree in Childhood and Youth Studies.

Zachary Corrie
Youth Worker

Hi I’m Zach, I live just outside Hadleigh but spent most of my life here as I went to Hadleigh High School, I am a mad trainer fan and in my spare time build cars for shows and other events, currently working on a mk1 Golf with a good friend. I’m a level 2 trained mechanic also level 2 trained in media and digital studies.

I started out my time with the Porch Project when it first opened in 2009 as a young person and then joined the team as a youth volunteer, from there I saw how much I enjoyed it and slowly made my way through the ranks eventually training to become a youth worker. I feel that because I’ve seen the project as a young person it’s definitely helped my development into a youth worker and given me a better understanding of the project. I’m now 3 years into my role as a Youthworker and I absolutely love it.
