Mike Grimwood
Youth Work Manager

Hi, I'm Mike.

I was born and have lived in Ipswich all my life up until late 2018, I now live just outside but close enough to retain the links I still have there.

I'm married with two grown up lads, who now live independently, so it's just myself, wife and our dog at home now.

I worked for Ipswich Borough Council for nearly 35 years, the last 4 as the Community Protection Operations Manager. I had a varied career during those years managing services such as Community Safety, Licensing & Enforcement, Bereavement Services, the Emergency Services Centre, Emergency Planning and cover management for Environmental Health, to name but a few.

For the last year I worked with Suffolk Family Carers managing the Young Adult Carers team (16-24) before deciding to apply to join the Porch Project.

I'm really excited to be working with Zach & Kayleigh and all those who come along and join us. I fully believe in an open door policy so always feel free to contact me, even if it's just to say Hi!

Kayleigh Diss
Youth Worker

Hi, I’m Kayleigh.

I was born in Luton but grew up in Felixstowe, from the age of 2½, until I moved to Nedging in 2014.

I'm currently halfway through the Open University BA (honours) degree in Childhood and Youth Studies.

Having had difficult teen years myself I’m so keen to offer support and help if I can. I absolutely love to cook and often spend my spare time cooking and trying new dishes. I never thought I was a country girl until I moved this way. I absolutely love living in a quiet village with my husband, our dog Ace and our naughty cat Luther. I have worked with children and young people for over 7 years and am passionate about everyone having a voice and being heard.

My time at Porch has already been so amazing and it’s been great to build relationships with the young people and help them in the best way I can. I’m really excited for next year and what Porch will have in store!!

If you would like to get in touch, please don’t hesitate!

Zachary Corrie
Youth Worker

Hi my name is Zach

I’ve been involved at Porch Project since I was 14 when I used to come as a young person and I’ve been a Youthworker here since September 2015. My reason for joining Porch Project as a Youthworker is the project helped me through some difficult times growing up and offered me a helping hand when I needed it most. The challenges young people face now are much more vast than when I left school so being able to offer them support through those issues is a great feeling. I love having the freedom to create and run programs that benefit the young people of both Hadleigh and Great Cornard.

Outside of work my passion is Cars. I’ve built a fair few show cars which have been on stands at shows around the country. I am also a bit trainer mad!!

If you’d like any more information on the Porch Project feel free to drop me an email or text, details below.
