Porch Project Team

Mike Grimwood
Porch Project Manager

Mike has lived and worked in Suffolk all of his life and is based close to Ipswich following a 35 year career with the local council.
He was the former Community Protection Operations Manager and has managed, as part of that role or independently, Community Safety, Licensing and Enforcement, Bereavement Services, the Emergency Services Centre and Business Continuity Management and Emergency Planning and covered management of the Environmental Health Team to name but a few.
He was been responsible for Safeguarding for many years and used his transferable skills to join Suffolk Family Carers in 2018 as the Young Adult Carers Manager, seeing out a 12 month contract before joining the Porch Project in February 2019.
His main aim is to enable the team to support the young people to live full lives and reach their maximum potential.

Kayleigh Diss
Senior Youth Worker

Kayleigh has always had a passion for working with young people and worked in schools supporting a variety of ages for almost 8 years. She felt that she wanted a new challenge and had always felt that she could be suited to working with teenagers and young people so began volunteering for Porch Project in October 2017. Having had difficult teen years, she felt that she could give something back and support those in similar circumstances.

She absolutely loved everything the project stood for and the relationships she was building through volunteering so applied for the role of a youth worker.

Kayleigh started her job at Porch Project in February 2018 and now is the project’s Senior Youth Worker. She works in school’s running girls focused groups as well as heading up our C-Card Scheme and Personal Hygiene project. She mentors young people one to one and is also involved with grant applications and securing funding for the charity.

Zach Corrie
Youth Worker

Zach has been part of the project for over 10 years starting out as a youth volunteer when he attended whilst at high school.

He struggled in school and felt it hard to apply himself in a mainstream educational setting. Zach has since trained with Porch Project in youth work and has been in his current position as a youth worker since October 2015.

He works in schools running our Shift-M intervention program and helps head up the youth council, he also mentors young people weekly with 1-2-1 work.

Nancy Boardley
Administrator and Support Assistant

Nancy grew up in Hadleigh and the surrounding villages and went on to work in Suffolk where she grew a successful career spanning over a decade.

She has worked within various industries throughout Suffolk and has been in roles from Administration through to Sales Management.

Her role started at the Porch Project over 8 years ago volunteering at our drop-in sessions on Fridays. In January 2020 she and the Porch Project team made her role official by joining the office team as Administrator and Support Assistant.

She hopes to assist the team in her office based role and enabling them to free up their time to concentrate on their Youth Work duties.
